The Sign Was Not Joking! 😬
Opening Weekend at Bolton Valley Bike Park in Vermont. This is still one of my favorite places to ride. Being opening weekend, and after a series of rainstorms only expert and intermediate terrain was open which made for some spicy fun. Additionally a surprise thunderstorm in the area, shut the lift down and cut our day short.

Can A Bike Park Have Too Many Options? 🤔
Переглядів 27 тис.23 години тому
Hailey and I escaped the rain to ride Thunder Mountain bike park in Massachusetts. I used to ride here more, but since moving to Vermont this place a bit of a haul to get down to. None the less, this place is still getting better by the trip especially with the addition of the new High Speed Quad! Overbiked VS UnderBiked: What's Better?
Переглядів 24 тис.14 днів тому
When it comes to choosing a mountain bike there's no shortage of options these days. Most bike brands make several bikes that fall under the Trail/ Enduro Bike category and for new and veteran riders, sometimes it's hard to know which one is the right one to choose. Should you go with the Short Travel trail bike or the Longer Travel Enduro bike. Bigger is not always better, so let's talk about ...
Bromont's Enduro Trails Have Some Serious Spice! 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Переглядів 24 тис.14 днів тому
Bromont is a maze of trails, not only are the bike park trails top notch, but there are a series of Enduro trails that start from some of other peaks. These trails are properly dicey, and are pedal accessible, or serviced by lift in the middle of summer. Fast Laps With Bromont Locals Down Chunky Terrain!
Переглядів 28 тис.21 день тому
Part 2 of our first day a Bromont bike park. It stopped raining and the sun came out which really dried out the trails and made them considerably faster. We got a guided tour from a Bromont local Adam Robbins, a friend I knew from Downhill racing. He also works for Faction bikes who has been working with Neko Mulally to develop their race bikes. Riding my New Bike at one of Canadas Best Bike Parks!
Переглядів 51 тис.28 днів тому
This is one of Canadas best kept "secret" bike parks, and this weekend was opening its day. Even though Bromont Bike Park has been around for years, and hosted several world cups, and has some heinous terrain, I've only ridden here once before and only on one trail. This trip was exciting for me because I get a chance to discover a new place! Bike Check: ua-cam.com/video/pZ7M1XGPYuc/v-deo.html ...

Helping My Wife Tackle a Double Black She's Avoided For Years!

Hailey tackles a new technical descent called LBC. It's a double black diamond trail at Sentiers Du Moulin full of chunky rocks and due to its double black rating has been avoiding. For some context before we met, Hailey was not risk averse. She'd hit big bike park drops and most of the A lines on a trail. However, that resulted in multiple broken bones including a shattered ankle requiring ext...

Bro you GOTTA come back to Brice bike park🤞🥳
Aside from the sketchy traction, I always feel like my drive train is getting eaten up by mud in wet conditions. Maybe someday gearboxes will be good enough to replace gears open to the elements
beautiful park! kid's got talent too
new camera angel is 🔥🔥
Great video but I like the regular GoPro lanes view better then 360
So helpful need a wheelie tooo
you ride so fast that it looks sped up on 2x speed your fckn crazy
Nice looking ride Phil. Great surf video.
Thanks G
This if that crazy ove creft lose close need next flower my follow end bake
13:12 I love how every go around on this section is just worse and worse... What a day!
Hill you are amazing in 5 mins I was bunny hoping 6 inches and I’m getting better thank you so much your vids are great
My prediction is the Dropper Post on a MTB will be as rare as a Dodo bird in a couple of years. My Pivot came with a dropper, hated it, installed a Carbon post, loved it.
Phil & and I ride the same these days, We are both riding Conti Tires ! I'm NOT the the only Conti rider in the park ! YEAH !
What a stamina,... and what a crazy skilled rider you are!! RESPECT!!
Love that your hoodie strings show just how steep it really is LOLOL
Bruh I just got the old version of the Ozark Trails vibe And it's actually hard to wheely I can stand a bmx bike completely vertical but tryna do it with a MTB is like relearning to wheely And I never learned to bunny hop so I'm tryna learn that for the first time Watched a few videos but first I got to get this bike more than a foot off the ground For those of you who gonna try to help me wheely I watched videos on that too and it's the same as a bmx the suspension and weight difference is what's throwing me off I've tried different gears and everything and the highest I got it is 2ft
You still running the GoPro?
Im just watching at 9:50pm 6/14… and I’m a bit nauseated with what seems like the GoPro setting. Could this be what you uploaded again with? Granted, I’m only 3:50 in, but I’m just not feeling this setting, or something. 🤷🏼♂️ It has a fisheye effect that’s weird.
you should check out stratton when you can
That's gotta bring back some of the feelings when you used to race with all that spice!!
Aaaaaaahhhh, wet and Spicy!!!!
You really do make it look easy. Bolton is terrifying.
It's crazy to me how like 4 years ago we would ride to the top of bolton cause they didn't have lift service and then rode down in half shell helmets.
I know right?! First lap down Bolton was Outslaw, it was a great introduction.
Opening day in the rain was no joke this year- roots were greeeeeeasy
phil what camera do you use?
Great tutorial! Gonna practice when trails get dry.
Dang Phil!!!! You never surprise me with your skills my man… what bike where you on for this venture and what tires were you running to get the traction you had??
I think if you wanna get better, go with an enduro bike. It’ll give you boat loads of confidence which is exactly what you need at that stage. Slack head angle will give you balls on the trial.
I swear I was going crazy, commenting again for the algorithm!
UA-cam is sad these days. 10sec clips suck
Damn!
I was there the day before you on opening day, the mud was no joke.
Good old broken valley.....where lift mechanics go to die
those landings are so smooth it's like you didn't leave the ground at all.
Loving all the bike park videos this year, Are you going to whistler this year phil?
No plans yet but not out of question.
@@SkillsWithPhil Cool, Do you think It's even worth A content creator going to whistler purely for filming anymore? It seems like everyone does it now
The part that makes Whistler interesting is that its such a universally recognized bike park. It's fun to see how different riders get along with familiar (to the audience) terrain. But otherwise yeah the novelty of it has warn off so it won't be ground breaking, riding there is still good for the soul :)
I love your camera angle/zoom. Mind if I ask what camera/mods you’re using! Aside from that, I enjoy the channel and your shredding!
i was not much on youtube for some time, maybe 6 months since i last saw phil riding. broooo phil is faaaaaaaaaaaast!
Yeah Phil has the most mind bending pov of probably anybody on youtube. The way he chooses lines and links trails together is always 10000iq
Phil - here's a trail I suck at but proceeds to make it down. Me- sitting here stuffing my face full of jojos watching and thinking yep I would have died 11 times in the first section if I rode this trail. 😂
Holy fuck, the tech is real
I want your “trail that I suck at”-level of riding 😂
Here's a trail I suck at... But let my wipe clean my camera...
Phil, I was under the impression that riding trails in those conditions damages them. What are your thoughts on that?
This is at a bike park, there's a paid trail crew maintaining the trails. Our public trails are closed in those conditions. But it also depends on the geography, some soil compositions hold up better in the wet
I understand it is a bike park that you pay to ride which helps pay crews to repair the trails. The same can be said for State and County Parks. Taxpayer revenue is earmarked for crews to maintain those parks. In my opinion that does not mean it is okay to knowingly cause damage to trails. I don’t like to see riders sliding, spraying dirt in the air or leaving skid marks. Same goes for overly wet conditions. The ruts left can cause crashes if they are not immediately repaired.
I understand your view point and appreciate the respect you have for trails. There's a big distinction between a public trails which is funding by taxes, donations and volunteers hours and a private business that charges for access and turns a profit. To be clear I'm not a huge fan of purposely doing unnecessary damage, but wear and tear is normal and bike parks will close trails that are more susceptible to damage. To be clear, I'm also a trail builder myself. I have built public and private mountain bike trails.
@@erictrelz3519 this is a for profit bike park. They NEED people to ride it on days like this to keep the lights on.
@@SkillsWithPhil good response
I was shocked to see how hard you were charging blind and just ripping! You have never done that trail before?!?!!! What!!!!?!
Awesome riding as always, man. This park looks like a blast, even if half of it is probably above my skill level 😂
10:48 the driest trail ever... Most savage thing I've seen on a bike this season
average uk trail
If you saw this videos earlier this morning you aren't crazy. I exported the video in 1080 instead of 4K. So i had to reupload the video.
I was very confused
Looking nice and crisp. Thanks, Phil!
the old video is still up though!
I originally unlisted the original videos to keep the comments. I hoped that it wouldn't show up in peoples feeds but it was still some how getting more traction that this upload so i just made it private. But doing so that deleted any comments.
But why did you edit the lizard people out 🤔 😂
I wish i can do jumps and drops like you
